Something Stompy This Way Comes

Protip:  It’s not an Imperial Knight.  But it will be an Imperial SOMETHING.

I’ll just leave this picture here and see if people can guess what it is I’m up to…

I might have given it away to some people so if that’s the case try not to be a jerk…

Battle at the Cadian Gate: Month 3

This past weekend I had the privilege of launching an assault on the forces of Chaos, the full report of which can be found at this here website which is run by the minions of Chaos…

He’s taking a lot of very epic pictures these days, and the write-up is pretty solid.

Here’s a few pics to whet your whistle…

Death Company Test Model

So those of you who follow me on twitter would have gotten a sneak preview of this guy.  I’m *very* pleased with how he turned out.  I recognize there are better painters out there than me, so if you have any suggestions, please leave them below.  I’m all ears.

So here's the first Work in Progress. I've just done the general armour, layered up black primer, drybrush skavenblight, drybrush dawnstone. Afterwards I wash it all with a Nuln Oil. Swords and pistols I'm hitting with Khorne red.

Booyeah! Some minor line highlighting in the finished product as I went back in with the dawnstone around the edges. I decided to go for red ropes because there's not enough colour on him otherwise. I was considering gold but opted against it at the last moment.

Another view. :D

Now just to do the rest of the squad.  These Death Company models have so much bling it took me about 3+ hours to do the test!  Now that I have the scheme more or less figured out, hopefully it speeds the process along a bit.

Again, if you have any input I’m all ears.  Cheers guys, and happy gaming.

Sanguinary Priest

I have no idea how this guy jumped the painting queue, but here he is in all his porcelain glory.  I can now officially field a painted Blood Angels allied detachment with this priest at the helm and Cassor the Damned as a troops choice.  Woot.

If you cross your eyes just *so* he might sparkle a little bit.

Like the shoulder pads and the gold.

Obviously got a bit of work to do on the base but that's for another day.

This was the first time I’ve painted anything close to white, and I’m quite pleased with it.  It took me a long time to get it finished because of all the finicky details, and my gold paint is acting up a bit.  Regardless, he’s done now.

I’m a Heretic! (I Love Playing ‘Nids)

I might be getting a bit away from myself here, but I gotta admit, I love playing as the bugs.  Something about ‘dem little critters that make them so fun to play, and I can’t quite put my talon on it…. errr… claw…. errr… dammit.

It appears I might have fallen victim to a Genestealer Cult and I was none the wiser.  Now it’s too late, I can’t even *BLAM!* myself due to lack of operable digits in order to pull the trigger  *sigh*.  Might as well make the best of it…

Radio Silence….

Hey all,

Been really quiet on this front since the Paintcation ended… My final tally was WELL shy of where I wanted to be, but I wound up ‘losing’ Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday to family get togethers.  Which isn’t really a loss when you get down to it.  It was lovely to see everyone.

Now this week, I’m preparing for an accreditation exam being held on Saturday.  I (shamefully) failed the first one, and have been studying a lot more than I usually would in order to CRUSH IT.  For great justice.

Anyways, hope to get back in the saddle, or painters chair, or on the tabletop soon.

In the meantime, enjoy an adorable picture of my dog (and his pig) to help you through the dark times.

Please pay attention to me...? And my pig...??
